Character Name: The Ferryman
Power(s): Shadow Manipulation, Self and Group Invisibility through Shadow Manipulation, Portal Teleportation through Shadow Manipulation.
Reasons for Approval: NPC, to facilitate storylines and antagonist needs.
What use is this approval to the character’s story? One of the tools for developing stories for players and staff alike.
What will you do to not abuse this approval? All shadow manipulation requires there to be an active shadow to be manipulated and controlled. If there is no shadows within the NPC line of sight then they have nothing to allow their powers to function.
Mutant Level: Beta Level
Reasons for Approval: This NPC has the capability to achieve Alpha level effects as is common of Beta Level mutants but being a mutant has to many factors on their body preventing them from living a normal human life and blending in.
What use is this approval to the character’s story? The weaknesses of the character hideous appearance coupled with their powers ability allows for very interesting story ideas to be created for players and staff alike.
What will you do to not abuse this approval? The character is skeletal and hideous to behold because of how the mutant gene changed their appearance. They are unable to live and exist as a normal person amongst people and instead are forced to live outside of the normal accepted existence and to be an underground dweller. Unless they wish to draw attention to them self as that of a monster that people might kill because of how it looks.
Item Name: The Scythe
Item Origin: He awoke with it many years ago.
Item Description: Like a long rusty workers scythe that his beat up and chipped as though it had been used for farming for far too long.
Reasons for Approval: Because his backstory and powers support having this item.
What use is this approval to the character’s story? It is an iconic item that expresses the feeling of alien existence that the NPC emanates. While also adding a semblance of mystery to the character making people wonder “Are they actually death?”.
What will you do to not abuse this approval? Waking without their memories they aren’t exactly sure what power that scythe possess, if any at all. Only that the item is important to the character for some reason that he cannot remember. Is it theirs or someone elses?
