Jack Jones [ • • • • overview
Character Name: Jack Jones, Jack Attack, Jacky Boy. (The Blur, Traceur, Speedy, amongst those who know he's a mutant. Or those who haven't seen him, but witnessed him help people via his mutant power.)
Character Nationality: Half Korean, American Father - Korean Mother
Character Hometown: Seoul, Korea. Currently goes to school at UCLA in California.
Character Age: 22 years old
Character Job or lifestyle: Rich Parents that live overseas in Korea and are partners in a pharmaceautical conglomerate. Character Affiliation: UCLA Track and Field Team, UCLA JV Basketball Team.
Character Personality: Jack is high energy, and very lively. He enjoys being active and having fun most notably in sports and other high energy environments. He gets bored pretty easy and some might call it adhd, although in reality it is becaise of his mutant Power. His superspeed and Reflexes make him feel like everyone else is moving so slow, talking so slow, so he tends to function best around other high energy people.
Character Biography: Jack was born as a child to Non-Mutant parents and his ability became obvious around the age of 10. Right around that time he was involved in a car crash, one that his parents were told would cripple him for life. However days after the incident, something happened. In restrospect of the stories that would follow, it was Jack's mutant gene activating, and speeding up his bodies processes to help heal the damaged tissue. Yet at the time it was marveled as a medical miracle, doctors and scientists were astonished. After experimentation and personal experiences it became apparent to the Jones family that Jack was much more special then just having healed. He was capable of so much more. So his family with their accumilated wealth did their best to pay off the right people, to from that point further keep Jack out of the limelight. They didn't want to risk their professional success on their son's strange new condition. Yet, they studied him and his condition to the best of their ability, however ultimately it was a bust. They couldn't figure out how it all had happened. Everytime they felt like they were getting close to answers something would go wrong. Or missing. It seemed the forces of the universe colluded against them. The Jones family would never truly understand what had happened to their son. However they were happy enough just having a happy, healthy, son. Whether he was special or not.

Jack Jones - Powers [ • • • • Powers and Mutant Level Character Name: Jack Jones
Power(s): Super speed, Super reflexes, Enhanced Metabolic Rate
Reasons for Approval: The character has a good supporting story to explain how he developed these powers. As well as the power’s themselves are not extremely overpowered.
What use is this approval to the character’s story? The character plans to follow a storyline around the idea of a normal person placed in a superhuman circumstance. I plan for him to pursue a story around the idea of being a hero and dealing with struggles and responsibilities that come with this struggle.
What will you do to not abuse this approval? Because of the increased speed, reflexes, and metabolic rate the character has to intake far more calories as well as having more nutritional requirements. Tunnel vision is another weakness common amongst speedsters, despite him having speed and reflexes sometimes people, cars, other things might get in the way. Also sudden stops sjould be mentioned, as commonly a hard thing for speedsters to sometimes accomplish. Shortened life span, because of his increased metabolic rate his entire natural life span would be decreased by 25% or more. So rather than living for 80 years with good health and nutrition he might only naturally live to 60.
Mutant Level: Alpha Level
Reasons for Approval: The character has enough weaknesses from his power that I believe he would qualify for this level of mutant level.
What use is this approval to the character’s story? The mutant level would allow the character to achieve my hopes of his specific powers raw abilities to be so fast that he could accomplish tasks similar to that of speedsters of legend. The flash even though he doesn’t exist in this canon is the sort of influence on the ideas of the powers raw potential.
What will you do to not abuse this approval? Other than the already discussed weaknesses of the character’s powers here is also some problems that could be potential issues. The reality of being an Alpha level mutant is that if the character allows himself to unleash the full raw potential of his speed he would move easily faster than the speed of sound. Creating sonic booms that would damage vehicles, buildings, and people nearby. Which could be a very frustrating and terrible thing if the hero who is trying to save people is also causing more problems from everyone nearby. So he has to be careful when using his powers to their full extent otherwise it could end up doing more damage than good.
